At the time of this writing, I have 4 active websites and over 50 domains. The vast majority of the web services that I have purchased have been through GoDaddy.com because, in a nut shell, their service has been excellent.
Customer Service
I don't care how great a company's services are if they aren't available to answer your inevitable questions then a hosting company is almost useless.
I have called the GoDaddy.com customer service phone number about 50 times for everything from how to navigate their site to what kind of server operating system to use with a PHP script and I have never waited more than 4 minutes for a representative to come to the phone. Most of the time the wait is less than a minute. Often, I didn't have to wait at all. With many other companies from consumer electronics to software companies I have waited over an hour before giving up. In this respect, GoDaddy.com is a breath of fresh air.
The GoDaddy.com service people have, for the most part, been consistently friendly, polite and knowledgeable about their products. If they don't have an answer they usually have access to technical specialists that, in most cases, can solve most complex problems. In about 50 calls I have had only one incomplete solution to a very technical problem plus one Rude Dude and one Slow Sally. All of the 47 other calls were answered by helpful, competent professionals.
Domain Name Selection Tools
When I need to pick a domain name for a new website that I am designing I like using the GoDaddy domain selection tool below (Go ahead try It- It's fun!):
It is a great way to quickly discover if your favorite website name is available. Almost instantly this tool will indicate if your chosen name is available in all of the top level domain suffixes such as .com, .net, .info, .org, .biz, etc. The GoDaddy.com Domain Selection Software also offers previously suggested names, premium names and international names. A "Smart Search" option automatically mixes in certain words with your preferred name which can be helpful in finding a similar name if your first idea is taken. For example if I found that cellphones.com was taken the Smart Search option might tell me that mycellphones.com or easycellphones.com or even myeasycellphonesonline.com are available options.
Without this slick tool Domain Name searches would be impossibly time consuming, complicated and expensive.
The Negatives
Honestly there aren't many. The GoDaddy.com website navigation has confused me on more than one occasion. This seems to be fairly typical of most large websites that have many items or services to sell. I seem to have the same trouble getting around my local grocery store too.
I once unsuccessfully tried to use a third party company for an automatic linking service. There seemed to be a problem with my use of Microsoft FrontPage to build the site in conjunction with GoDaddy's server software and the Linking Company's use of a PHP script. I honestly can't say what went wrong or exactly who was at fault but GoDaddy.com, although they really tried hard, couldn't seem to beat this complicated problem.
After additional research, I discovered that this type of auto linking, designed to increase my website's ranking with Google, had some serious drawbacks. I decided to pass altogether.
The Bottom Line
I have used many other GoDaddy.com Services like their WebSite Tonight Online Software for building a simple website before I learned to use some of the more powerful web building software programs.
I have used their email services, search engine submission services, domain auctions, website tracking, Search Engine Optimization analysis (SEO), and many more. All of these programs have delivered consistent results and were fairly easy to learn.
GoDaddy has been consistently available with most of the programs I have needed for my web businesses. Because of their wide range of services, ease of use, reasonable prices and easy availability of competent customer service agents, I have been able to focus most of my energies on learning how to make money on the internet. I highly recommend GoDaddy.com

For the second year in a row, computer users named GoDaddy.com the best domain registrar in the business. In the annual survey by Domain Name Wire, Go Daddy garnered 33% of the votes, up from 28% last year. "The computer users that we polled clearly prefer Go Daddy over other domain registrars," said Andrew Allemann, editor at Domain Name Wire. Congratulations on being part of the winning team!
